Rick Carter
Web guy.
I have built loads of websites. I also take photos.
I've worked in the internet since leaving Uni, I worked for a small hosting company for 4 years which was a great start to my career, I was encouraged to develop skills that I was interested in and at the same time the company was involved in a couple of internet startups. I fondly remember the real buzz of excitement about the possibilities of the internet around that whole dot com time.
From mid 2004 to August 2011 I've worked for the design agency Maze. I loved it at Maze, they have some fantastic clients and are doing some great work. I still work daily with them.
Throughout my career I've worked with a range of clients some big some small, these have included the Cumbria Tourist Board, Aramark, BP, Dragonfly Teas as well as hundreds of others. One of the things I love about web design is the fact that each new project and client brings it's own challenges. I'm stupidly passionate about the internet with a focus on clean coded xhtml, css and php.
I'm a keen sportsman - I play tennis, badminton, table tennis and golf. I cycle if I can a hundred miles a week. I'm also a husband and a father.
But you're probably more interested in my work - I take what I do very seriously - I've worked with some big name clients and my approach and attention to detail will be the same on your project, no matter what your budget. I believe something is only worth doing if it's done properly.
